Polishing Guideline

Before Using Veneer

( Natural / DYED / hybrid - Engineered Veneer )

Lightly sand the veneer along the grain
with 220–320 grit sandpaper.

Apply a non-yellowing, clear wood base coat "pu water base
or pu acrylic 2k" - of a reputed standard company
to protect from moisture, stain, direct or indirect sunlight
or uv light, heat etc.

Nc polish, melamine polish,
shellac polish is not recommended.

Strictly avoid direct or indirect sunlight completely.

Before Top Coat

(Natural / Dyed / Hybrid - Engineered Veneer)

Lightly sand the veneer along the grain with 220-320 grit sandpaper.

Ensure there are no glue marks, dust or damage surface.

Work in a clean, dust-free, ventilated dry area.

Test polish on a small area or small sample before full application.

Apply thin coats using a spray gun or brush or cotton polishing cloth.

Allow minimum 3 to 6 hours drying time between coats.

Sand with 400-600 grit sandpaper between coats.

Recommended: 2-3 coats for a smooth, protective finish.

After the final coat dries (24-48 hours), lightly buff the surface using: fine-grade rubbing compound or non-abrasive wood polish.

Reasons For Discoloration in
hybrid - engineered veneer,
dyed veneer and natural veneer

Direct - Indirect exposure to
uv light or sunlight

Cause:
Prolonged exposure to sunlight or uv light during or after polishing can break down certain dyes. sunlight - uv light or heat can prematurely oxidize the surface during or right after polishing.

Effect:
This may alter the colour tone or fade the finish or change to yellowing tone.

Advice:
Apply a base coat of non-yellowing, clear wood base coat "pu water base or pu acrylic 2k" of a reputed standard company before using the veneer.

Moisture Absorption or humidity

Cause:
High humidity or dust can ruin the finish. If the veneer absorbs moisture from the air, the dye can bleed or migrate.

Effect:
Uneven or blurred colour zones.

Advice:
Work in a clean, dry, well-ventilated dry space.

Use of Incompatible Polish or Sealer /
Incorrect or Harsh Solvents

Cause:
Some polishes or thinners (especially strong ones like acetone or high-concentration nc thinners) can react with the pigments / dyes used specially in dyed and engineered hybrid veneer.

Effect:
These can react with the pigments/dyes.

Result:
Fading, Colour lifting, yellowing or chemical blotching.

Advice:
Always test the finish on a sample piece before applying it on the full surface.
use compatible sealers and polishes specifically formulated for dyed & engineered hibrid veneer.

Chemical Contamination

Cause:
Use of contaminated brushes, cloths or spray guns.

Effect:
Cross-reactions with cleaning agents, oils or other residues.

Advice:
Spotting or colour distortion in the final polish.
