Finger jointed lumber
As an environment friendly concern we understand
the moral responsibility to preserve natural resources and thus we try
to use more lumber from each and every log.
Finger jointed studs are made by
bonding shorter sections of lumbers using structural water
resistant adhesives. It is a method of joining two pieces of
lumber end-to-end by sawing into the end of each piece a set of
projecting "fingers" that interlock. When the pieces
are pushed together, these form a strong glue joint
(Random Lengths). Finger jointed studs are made for vertical use
only and can be used interchangeably with unjointed studs
Grades for finger jointed lumber uses
the same rules as unjointed lumber. The woods in the joints
actually meet stricter requirements. Design values are also
the same as those in unjointed lumber
